Global IP Counsel

About the role

Perrigo is seeking a commercially‑minded Global IP Counsel to protect and grow its worldwide intellectual property portfolio. Reporting to the Global IP Lead, you will collaborate with business teams, internal legal colleagues, and an outsourced IP provider to ensure the company’s brands, innovations, formulations, packaging and other assets are well‑protected and aligned with growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day advice on trademarks, designs, copyrights, patents, trade secrets and domain names.
• Support the transition to an outsourced IP portfolio model, coordinating with the external provider and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee the external provider’s handling of the global portfolio, ensuring quality, strategic alignment and budget compliance.
• Assist with IP disputes, enforcement actions and litigation prevention.
• Review and draft IP‑related agreements, including licensing, co‑development and commercial contracts.
• Participate in IP due diligence for M&A activities.
• Deliver IP training, tools and best‑practice guidance across the business.
• Maintain data integrity on the IP platform and improve IP processes and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Curious, commercially‑oriented legal professional with experience in intellectual property matters.
• Proven ability to advise on a broad range of IP rights and to manage relationships with external providers.
• Experience handling IP disputes, licensing agreements and M&A due diligence.
• Strong communication skills for training and stakeholder engagement.
