About the role
We are seeking a Principal Medical Officer to lead clinical care in a 20‑bed step‑down community facility. This full‑time, fixed‑term position offers a Monday‑Friday schedule (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) and focuses on rehabilitation, recovery, and high‑quality patient‑centred care.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical assessment and treatment for patients transitioning from acute care.
- Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to deliver integrated rehabilitation services.
- Oversee patient management plans, ensuring safety, continuity, and optimal recovery outcomes.
- Maintain clinical governance standards and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Active Specialist GP registration with the Irish Medical Council.
- Relevant experience in community, rehabilitation, or elderly‑care settings.
- Demonstrated leadership and strong patient‑management capabilities.
