Production Operator – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a Production Operator to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Carlow. The role works on a 4‑cycle shift pattern with a 33.33% shift premium and offers an 11‑month fixed‑term contract. You will operate and monitor a range of specialised equipment to ensure optimal uptime and meet production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment using MES/DCS and PLC‑based systems.
• Handle equipment such as parts washers, autoclaves, CIP/SIP tanks, vial washers, depyro tunnels, debaggers and filling machines.
• Perform clean‑room cleaning, housekeeping and materials management while applying Lean principles.
• Track equipment flow, manage labeling, inventory and sterile status via Kanban and automated MES.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs within qualification.
• Contribute to writing and updating operational procedures and training materials.
• Participate in investigations, change control and root‑cause analysis using tools like FMEA and Fishbone diagrams.

Required profile

• Leaving Certificate or equivalent; apprenticeship, certificate or diploma in a related discipline preferred.
• Experience in sterile filling processes and GMP environments.
• Knowledge of Irish, European and International regulatory codes.
• Strong written communication for reporting, standards and policy documentation.
• Effective teamwork and ability to interact with all organisational levels.
