Drug Products Operations Specialist

About the role

The Drug Products Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence within AbbVie’s manufacturing environment. You will support the planning, execution, and post‑campaign activities for drug product and API production while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement continuous improvement ideas and operational excellence opportunities based on production performance data.
• Support lean development and continuous improvement skill building across the manufacturing organization.
• Assist in pre‑campaign planning, review lessons learned, and support post‑campaign activities for drug products and APIs.
• Act as a delegate for Operations Leads on specific tasks and represent operations in new product introduction projects.
• Lead or assist root cause analyses and define corrective/preventive actions during deviation investigations.
• Follow up on and close CAPAs and compliance suggestions related to operations.
• Adhere to all SOPs for quality, safety, and environmental compliance and act as a role model for positive compliance interventions.
• Implement changes to operating SOPs and contribute to key manufacturing and site strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or Process Engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of API and drug product processing, unit operations, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Lean Six Sigma qualification or equivalent knowledge is highly desirable.
