Qualified Accountant

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a reputable Cork‑based firm. The role is a generalist position offering exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance and audit work across a diverse client base, with strong support for professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Complete tax compliance work including VAT, Corporation Tax and Income Tax returns.
• Assist with statutory audits and provide audit support.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Liaise with clients on day‑to‑day queries and deliver proactive advice.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and tax regulations.
• Support and train junior staff as required.
• Undertake ad‑hoc tasks and assignments from partners or senior team members.

Required profile

• ACCA, ACA or CPA qualified (or part‑qualified).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Irish accountancy practice.
• Strong grounding in accounts preparation, tax compliance and some audit exposure.
• Solid understanding of Irish tax legislation and accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills with a client‑focused mindset.
