Indirect Tax Consultant – VAT Advisory

About the role

AVASK Global Compliance is seeking an Indirect Tax Consultant to join its Dublin team. You will support a diverse portfolio of e‑commerce clients, providing expert VAT advice and ensuring full compliance with European tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality VAT consultancy and business advice to assigned clients.
• Calculate and file European VAT returns accurately and on time.
• Advise clients on VAT liabilities, tax payments, and outstanding returns, covering EC Sales and Intrastat reporting.
• Communicate with tax authorities on behalf of clients and manage related obligations.
• Conduct VAT audits and investigations in collaboration with tax offices.
• Coordinate client account management with the Credit Control Department.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in VAT legislation.
• Provide exceptional customer service to build strong client relationships.
• Represent the firm at events and webinars.
• Train, support, and develop new team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of Irish VAT experience.
• Background in law, VAT, accountancy or finance.
• Strong communication skills for email, phone and face‑to‑face client interaction.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Organised, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent multi‑tasking capability.
