R&D Design Engineer – Medical Devices (Contract)

About the role
This contract position supports a global medical‑device company in designing and developing new products that will reach the market. The role is based in Limerick and combines on‑site collaboration with remote work, offering a fast‑paced environment for an experienced engineer.
Key responsibilities
- Design and prototype medical‑device components and systems.
- Create and execute test plans, verification and validation (V&V) protocols.
- Conduct design reviews, evaluations and risk analysis throughout the development cycle.
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes and introduce new equipment, materials and technologies.
- Prepare and present design documentation and regulatory submissions.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- 1‑5 years of R&D experience on medical‑device products.
- Solid understanding of medical‑device regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, hybrid work environment.
