About the role
We are seeking an R&D Design Engineer to join a global medical‑device company on a 12‑month contract. The role focuses on designing and developing new medical products and bringing them to market, with a hybrid work pattern that includes 2‑3 days on‑site each week in Limerick.
Key responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and develop test plans for medical devices.
- Conduct reviews, evaluations, verification & validation (V&V) and write related protocols.
- Prepare and present design documentation to internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform risk analysis and manage risk mitigation activities.
- Drive process‑development engineering and introduce new equipment, materials and technologies.
Required profile
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
- 1‑5 years of experience as an R&D Engineer on medical‑device projects.
- Solid understanding of medical‑device regulatory requirements.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
