About the role
Fota Island Resort is seeking a part‑time Reservations Agent to join its hospitality team, primarily working weekends. The role involves handling guest enquiries, managing bookings through the Opera system, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Process room, golf, spa and other service reservations using the Opera cloud system.
- Respond promptly to guest queries via phone and email, offering accurate information and upselling additional services.
- Maintain reservation records, file backups, and ensure all data is organized and accessible.
- Handle no‑show reporting and revenue capture on a daily basis.
- Liaise with reception and other departments to resolve billing or booking issues.
- Monitor occupancy and rates to maximise yield.
Required profile
- Fluent English with strong oral and written communication.
- Good knowledge of the local area and hospitality environment.
- Leaving Certificate or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent customer service attitude and professional telephone etiquette.
Required skills
- Experience with Opera property management system (Opera cloud).
- Intermediate computer skills, including report writing and data analysis.
- Effective email etiquette and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced setting.
