Retail Depot Assistant – Customer Service & Sales

About the role

The Retail Depot Assistant supports the smooth operation of the Carlow depot, handling inbound and outbound calls, processing sales, and ensuring excellent customer service. You will work closely with the Depot Supervisor and coordinate with drivers and sales representatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily depot checks and report safety concerns or near‑misses.
• Wear appropriate PPE while working in the yard.
• Process payments for yard sales and take domestic or bulk orders over the phone and at the counter.
• Promote additional depot products, Tesco Clubcard, and HVO fuel alternatives.
• Encourage customers to use credit‑card or COD payment methods for deliveries.
• Handle all incoming telephone enquiries efficiently and resolve customer queries promptly.
• Support the Depot Supervisor with day‑to‑day activities, including credit‑control calls and coordination with reps and drivers.

• Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends as required.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and report incidents.
• Strong communication skills for phone and face‑to‑face interactions.
