Security Operations Manager

About the role

The Maples Group is seeking a Security Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day activities of its Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Dublin. Reporting to the Senior Cyber Risk Manager, you will work across a global, follow‑the‑sun model with peers in North America and Asia, ensuring continuous monitoring, analysis, and proactive escalation of security events.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and continuously improve the SOC, overseeing monitoring, alert handling, and incident escalation.
• Develop and execute the SOC maturity roadmap with an automation‑first approach.
• Align SecOps processes with NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001/2, SOC 2, PCI DSS and other regulatory requirements.
• Produce and track metrics such as MTTD, MTTR, alert‑to‑case conversion, false‑positive rate and automation coverage.
• Manage shift coverage, on‑call rotations and ensure SLA compliance.
• Lead, coach and develop SOC staff in Dublin, Cayman and Hong Kong through regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
• Coordinate access control, application and development security, risk management, business continuity and physical security initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a SOC or equivalent security operations function.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead distributed security teams and drive process improvement.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with a focus on measurable outcomes.
