Senior Software Engineer – Data Services (Patient Care Systems)

About the role
Medtronic’s Patient Care Systems team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to drive data services that power connected cardiac therapies worldwide. You will build, monitor, and improve the platforms that deliver real‑time insights from implantable devices.
Key responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks within established deadlines.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Create proactive monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents.
- Mentor junior engineers and support their skill development.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience (or advanced degree with 2 years).
- Experience with data architecture, schema design (JSON/Avro) and ERD‑based solutions.
- Proven work in agile environments (scrum or kanban).
- On‑call support experience.
Required skills
- GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
- Terraform (IaC)
- AWS services: Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, Lambda
- Python (PySpark is a plus)
- Apache Spark and Iceberg
- JSON, Avro, ERD design
