Site Engineer – Cork

About the role

PJ Hegarty, a leading construction company in Ireland and the UK, is looking for an experienced Site Engineer to join its Cork team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will oversee engineering activities on site, ensuring quality, safety and compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑out works from engineers’ drawings and conduct site surveys.
• Interpret drawings for layouts, material quantities and as‑built documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and the on‑site workforce to meet programme targets.
• Liaise with client representatives and design team members as required.
• Maintain the highest health and safety standards on site.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and control material ordering.
• Maintain accurate site records.

Required profile

• Third‑level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2‑3 years post‑qualification experience in a similar role.
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Self‑motivated with a focus on safety, quality and programme delivery.
• Full driving licence.
