Warehouse Operative – Medical & Surgical Equipment

About the role

The Warehouse Operative will support the efficient running of a warehouse handling medical and surgical equipment. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and dispatching goods while ensuring safety, accuracy and compliance with company procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, unload and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
• Inspect goods for damage, quality and accuracy, and record stock in the warehouse management system.
• Store items using appropriate stock rotation principles (e.g., FIFO).
• Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring correct products, quantities and documentation.
• Coordinate with carriers for timely collections and deliveries.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, perform goods receipt, transfers and dispatch transactions.
• Participate in regular stock counts and report discrepancies.
• Safely operate counterbalance or reach forklifts, conducting pre‑use safety checks.
• Adhere to health and safety policies, keep the warehouse clean and organised, and use PPE as required.
• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
• Valid forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to follow goods in/out processes and maintain attention to detail.
• Basic IT competence for using stock systems.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to follow health and safety procedures.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (counterbalance/reach).
• Use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Basic computer skills for stock transactions.
