Data Engineer

About the role

The Central Bank of Ireland is seeking a Data Engineer to join the RAD Division on an indefinite contract. The role supports prudential supervision of firms by providing specialist data analytics expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the team in delivering descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and decision analytics to support supervisory actions.
• Maintain and develop data analytics sources, tools and processes to ensure timely escalation of significant trends.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to communicate analytical outcomes clearly.
• Perform ad‑hoc activities as directed by the Senior Data Analyst/Manager.

Required profile

• Third‑level honours degree in statistics, business analytics, computer science, maths, finance, economics or related field.
• 1‑5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, business intelligence or risk analysis within financial services.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Python, Java, Julia.
• Statistical analysis tools: R, SAS, Matlab.
• Relational database management and data warehousing: SQL, SQL Server.
• Business intelligence reporting/visualisation tools.
