Senior Professional Services Engineer (German Speaker)

About the role

NetApp is looking for a motivated Senior Professional Services Engineer to join a global 24x7 Storage Operations team supporting Platform and Managed Services customers. The role is based in Cork, Ireland, on a hybrid basis, and offers relocation assistance and visa sponsorship for qualified candidates coming from across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 support, including incident response, service requests and problem management.
• Handle infrastructure improvements and ONTAP upgrades.
• Support cloud infrastructure, networking, virtualization, servers and S3-compatible object storage.
• Lead technical activities, provide customer training and act as an escalation resource.

Required profile

• Fluent English with excellent verbal and written communication skills; German speaking ability is required by the title.
• 8+ years of NetApp storage administration and deployment (CDOT and 7-Mode) is an advantage.
• Strong experience with performance troubleshooting, firmware/OS upgrades, cluster switches, SAN fabric switches and NetApp management tools (OnCommand Unified Manager, Performance Manager, ActiveIQ).
• Deep knowledge of CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, snapshots, replication, SnapMirror, IntelliSnap, security hardening and performance tuning.
• Experience with NetApp cloud and hybrid solutions such as Cloud Volumes ONTAP, StorageGrid, E-Series, Cloud Backup, data classification and Amazon FSx for ONTAP.
• Experience with storage backup, disaster recovery testing and NetApp cluster deployments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, managed services, outsourcing and cloud operations.

Required skills

• Preferred: Trident, Trident Protect, OpenShift, OpenStack, LogicMonitor, WAN, SAN and DR technologies.
• Windows Server, Linux, VMware vSphere, Cisco UCS, FlexPod, Commvault.
• Familiarity with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform; NetApp or cloud certifications are an advantage.
