Project Assistant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to support the implementation of its project for Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection (BOTP’s) in Ireland. Working under the Chief of Mission and the National Project Officer, the role provides administrative and logistical support to the team facilitating movements into transitional accommodation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics and maintain records for project activities, ensuring smooth communication between internal units and external partners.
• Assist caseworkers by preparing correspondence, reports, briefing notes, presentations, and statistical tables.
• Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions, and respond to general information requests.
• Draft and process administrative requests, obtain clearances, and follow‑up on actions in line with the project’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of project data, mitigate fraud, and monitor the integrity of records containing personal information.

Required profile

• Education: School diploma with four years relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Political/Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields with two years relevant experience.
• Experience: Proven experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and working with migrants, refugees or other vulnerable groups; prior work with international humanitarian organisations is an advantage.
• Languages: Fluency in English (oral and written) required; working knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
