Director, Ireland - SRI Executive

About the role

MSF UK and Ireland is looking for a Director, Ireland, the most senior leader of its Irish operation, based in Dublin. The Director reports to the Deputy Executive Director UK & IE, is accountable to the MSF Ireland Board of Directors and leads the Irish management team of about 25 staff. The role covers strategic, operational and financial leadership, including change, finance and governance, people and recruitment, fundraising, communications, advocacy and internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Build a positive, inclusive workplace culture, set clear performance and behavioural expectations and foster open communication and team cohesion.
• Lead the implementation of MSF Ireland's strategy, align the management team, develop operational plans and set measurable targets.
• Support staff with direction, resources and coaching, clarify roles and priorities and build confidence in leadership.
• Ensure continuity during the leadership transition, keeping fundraising, communications and recruitment on track while maintaining financial and governance standards.
• Build trust and collaboration with MSF UK, and represent the organisation to government, civil society, funders, regulators and the media.
• Oversee the fundraising strategy, the day-to-day management of the office and compliance with Irish law and regulation.
• Lead the Irish team, develop leadership capability and succession planning, and oversee the design, delivery and evaluation of change projects.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience, ideally as a Country Director, Head of Office, CEO or equivalent in the charity, NGO, public or social enterprise sectors.
• Significant experience leading senior management teams and transformational change projects.
• Demonstrated success managing complex budgets and a strong understanding of Irish governance and regulatory environments.
• Experience representing organisations at senior external levels, including media, funders and government.
• Degree or professional qualification in a relevant field (e.g. MBA).
