Resort General Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join Dromoland Castle resort as a General Maintenance Technician, ensuring the estate’s facilities remain in top condition for guests and staff. You will be responsible for routine upkeep, rapid response to issues, and supporting the overall comfort and safety of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine preventative maintenance across the estate.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Perform mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair tasks.
• Support HVAC maintenance and general facilities upkeep.
• Maintain guest rooms and public areas in excellent working order.
• Record and track daily tasks using the hotel’s maintenance software/app.
• Keep maintenance stores and workspaces clean, safe, and organized.
• Assist with preventative maintenance planning and implementation.
• Liaise with external contractors when required.
• Uphold all Health & Safety standards and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar maintenance or industrial role.
• Relevant trade qualification.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general maintenance systems.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Positive, professional, team‑focused attitude.
• Previous hospitality or hotel experience is an advantage.
