Catering Assistant – HSE Dublin & North East

About the role

We are seeking a Catering Assistant to join the Health Service Executive (HSE) in the Dublin and North East region, based in Cavan. This full‑time position supports the delivery of safe and high‑quality food services within HSE facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and refreshments in accordance with HSE standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen and dining areas, following food safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels, receive deliveries and ensure proper storage of food items.
• Assist with menu planning and special dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with clinical and support staff to coordinate catering services for patients and staff.

Required profile

• Open to both HSE and non‑HSE applicants.
• Ability to work on‑site in a healthcare environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
• Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Experience operating kitchen equipment and handling food preparation.
• Basic numeracy for stock and inventory management.
