Senior Associate, IT Network Engineer (AWS/Azure Cloud)

About the role

MUFG Investor Services, a division of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group serving public and private funds, is hiring a Senior Network Engineer in Dublin on a hybrid basis. The role designs and manages the local and wide area networks of the organisation, keeping them secure, reliable and highly available, with a strong focus on cloud tenants (Azure and AWS) alongside on-premises infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect secure, scalable, highly available networks using VPNs, VPCs, virtual networks and load balancers
• Provision, configure and manage cloud network resources on AWS, Azure and Cisco Meraki
• Implement security controls such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption and compliance with industry standards
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues and optimise stability, availability and efficiency
• Connect cloud environments with on-premises infrastructure securely, using VPNs
• Use automation tools and scripting to streamline network operations
• Manage backup strategies, disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures and compliance records
• Report incidents, maintenance and project progress to stakeholders and stay current with emerging technologies

Required profile

• Bachelor's or associates degree in computer engineering or computer science
• Strong hands-on experience designing and supporting network infrastructure in AWS and Azure (required)
• Demonstrable experience in a professional IT environment with exposure to network and security engineering
• 3+ years working in L2 IT support capacity
• Good knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs and Layer-3 devices, specifically Cisco (Meraki), Palo Alto and/or Fortinet
• Experience implementing and administering Microsoft Server 2008 R2 through 2019, Terminal Services, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy and VMware vSphere 6.5+
• SAN systems (HPE 3PAR experience preferred)

• Cloud networking on AWS and Azure
• Preferred: Cisco CCNA and CCNP, Azure/AWS certifications (AZ-100 to AZ-104, AZ-900, AWS Practitioner, SysOps & Solutions Architect), and ITIL certification
