Senior Software Engineer – Data & AI

About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer within Mastercard Services, you will design and build innovative, data‑intensive applications that enable global businesses to extract more value from their data. You will work on analytics‑driven products that support sophisticated experimentation and decision‑making for large enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Lead team‑level system design, covering high‑level architecture, API contracts, data flows, integration patterns and non‑functional requirements such as scalability, reliability and security.
• Develop and optimise data‑intensive applications using Databricks, Spark, and related technologies to process large data sets at scale.
• Build AI‑powered products and intelligent agents that leverage Large Language Models, retrieval systems and orchestration frameworks.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across services, APIs, data pipelines and user experiences.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers through code reviews, design feedback and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering scalable, high‑performance solutions in an agile environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience designing distributed systems, microservices and cloud‑native applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (advanced degree is a plus).
