Accommodation Assistant

About the role

The Accommodation Assistant ensures that guest rooms, bathrooms and public areas are cleaned to the hotel’s standards, supporting a pleasant stay for all guests.

Key responsibilities

• Clean allocated bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors and cubbies to departmental standards.
• Operate cleaning machinery safely and follow all health and safety procedures.
• Stock trolleys and caddies daily and use cleaning chemicals as directed.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and adhere to recycling and waste‑disposal protocols.
• Return any lost property to the accommodation department and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Provide efficient, friendly service to guests, handling requests and complaints professionally.
• Maintain uniform, name badge and high personal hygiene standards.
• Assist with routine cleaning of changing rooms, staff canteens and other designated areas when required.
• Participate in training, hotel committees and sustainability initiatives.

Required profile

• Positive, friendly attitude with guests and colleagues.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry items safely.
• Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Cleaning machinery operation.
• Proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental procedures.
