Accountant – Finance Team (Ireland)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing, PE‑backed Irish business to add an Accountant to its finance team. This hands‑on position offers exposure across the full finance cycle and the chance to work closely with senior finance leaders as the function evolves.

Key responsibilities

• Support monthly accounts preparation and management reporting.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and review control accounts.
• Assist with variance analysis, management information and ad‑hoc reporting.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable and improve billing processes.
• Process payroll, expense claims and related reconciliations.
• Support job costing, revenue recognition and subcontractor payment processes (RCT, VAT compliance).
• Assist with audit preparation, year‑end activities and wider finance projects.

Required profile

• Ambitious and reliable individual with strong accounting fundamentals.
• Part‑qualified, studying, or qualified by experience.
• Experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within construction, engineering, contracting or infrastructure.
• Proactive, organised and comfortable working in a busy operational environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting systems, ideally Xero.
