Accounts Technician – Pension Fund Accounting

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Technician to join a leading independent professional services organisation specialising in pensions and retirement solutions. You will work within the Fund Accounting team delivering high‑quality pension fund accounting services to a diverse portfolio of occupational pension scheme clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile pension scheme accounting records and ledgers.
• Assist in the preparation of annual statutory pension scheme accounts.
• Support external audit processes and collate information required for scheme audits.
• Monitor employer contributions to ensure accurate recording and accounting.
• Manage and oversee scheme bank accounts and cash movements.
• Prepare periodic reconciliations, financial reports and accounting information for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Provide financial data to support actuarial reporting requirements.
• Contribute to internal quality assurance, audit and compliance activities.
• Attend client and internal meetings and ensure timely completion of actions.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accounting, finance or bookkeeping role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
• Excellent numerical and analytical abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with financial accounting systems.
