Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Clinical Development Role

About the role

This position is focused on developing the job description and supporting documentation required for registration as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Health Care Provider’s Advanced Practice Stakeholder Governance Group to acquire the academic, clinical and leadership competencies needed for ANP registration.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the ANP job description and related documentation in line with NMBI standards.
• Undertake required academic preparation and demonstrate progressive clinical expertise.
• Document complete episodes of patient care (assessment, diagnosis, planning, treatment, discharge) following agreed protocols.
• Provide safe, evidence‑based, nurse‑led care while operating within defined scope of practice.
• Submit all necessary paperwork for registration as a Registered Advanced Nurse Practitioner (RANP) with NMBI.
• Contribute to clinical leadership, professional scholarship, and nursing research at local, regional and national levels.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse eligible for NMBI registration.
• Commitment to completing the academic programme required for ANP status.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and governance groups.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and decision‑making abilities.
