AI Speech & Audio Specialist – ASR, TTS & Voice AI (Freelance)

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate the naturalness, expressiveness, and cultural relevance of synthesized voices to ensure they meet high‑quality standards.
• Correct ASR transcriptions, edit recordings (segmentation, noise reduction, silence adjustment) and ensure linguistic accuracy.
• Perform spectrographic and acoustic analysis to identify quality defects, background noise issues, and inconsistencies in pitch or timing.
• Create, curate, and validate large‑scale vocal datasets for training and evaluating ASR and TTS models, including diverse accents and dialects.
• Write detailed audio‑quality guidelines, train new annotators, and provide ongoing feedback to improve annotation consistency.
• Monitor the latest advances in signal processing, speech synthesis, and applied linguistics, and share insights with the community.

Collaboration & Community

• Work remotely from Dublin while collaborating with engineers, linguists, researchers, and a global network of freelance experts.
• Participate in community knowledge‑sharing sessions, contribute to best‑practice documents, and help shape future voice AI technologies.
• Provide feedback to model developers to improve ASR and TTS performance based on annotation findings.

Qualifications

• Experience with ASR and TTS evaluation, audio editing, and spectrographic analysis.
• Strong linguistic awareness, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and ability to train annotators.
