Allocation Adviser – Housing Allocation Specialist

About the role

The Allocation Adviser will join Respond’s housing team in Airmount, Waterford, playing a pivotal role in matching housing units with eligible applicants. You will manage applications, conduct income calculations for rent checks, and collaborate with internal and external partners to minimise void periods and uphold high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up contacts and create applications upon receipt of nominations.
• Process applications, including income calculations for rent checks.
• Proactively follow up on pending applications to reduce void times, using spreadsheets and the Active H system.
• Coordinate with the Tenant Relations Officer to ensure timely assessments, offers, and allocations.
• Issue and process letting conditions, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
• Manage dedicated inboxes and respond promptly to enquiries.
• Prepare and advertise new cost‑rental scheme developments, including documentation and keyholder systems.
• Organise lottery processes for new schemes and handle post‑lottery application setup.
• Conduct eligibility checks, manage refusals and appeals, and communicate decisions clearly.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with data.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to manage multiple tasks.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with applicants, internal teams, and external stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
