Application & Business Development Manager – Automotive

About the role

This role offers an experienced automotive and materials engineering professional the chance to lead the development and commercialization of next‑generation mobility solutions across Europe. You will work closely with major OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers, guiding projects from concept through production while driving sustainable material innovations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and commercialization of innovative automotive applications for European OEM accounts, focusing on EV and sustainability projects.
• Drive technical validation and specification activities for advanced thermoplastic solutions from concept to SOP.
• Build and manage a pipeline of technical opportunities and support long‑term account growth.
• Act as primary technical interface between OEM customers and internal R&D, product management, sales and regulatory teams.
• Support material selection and application design, coordinating molding trials, testing, seminars and workshops.
• Collaborate with commercial teams on forecasting, opportunity progression and business development.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives for low‑carbon, recycled‑content and circular material solutions.
• Provide insights on OEM technology roadmaps, market trends and future mobility requirements.
• Maintain accurate tracking of opportunities, milestones and customer engagements in CRM systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive and/or plastics industry in a technical or business development role.
• Proven ability to work with OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers on advanced material applications.
• Strong understanding of sustainability, low‑carbon and circular material concepts.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
