Assessment of Need Manager – Grade VIII

About the role

The Assessment of Need Manager (Grade VIII) provides senior leadership for the Assessment of Need Office within HSE Mid West. This role ensures that the office delivers high‑quality services in line with the Disability Act 2005 and supports people with disabilities to receive appropriate care close to home.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Assessment of Need Office, balancing competing demands and priorities.
• Ensure compliance with the Disability Act 2005 and related statutory requirements.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve assessment processes and service delivery standards.
• Oversee staff performance, professional development and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote integrated disability services.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a health service manager at a senior level.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Disability Act 2005 and assessment of need frameworks.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning and change‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
