Asset Reliability / Maintenance Engineer

About the role

The Asset Reliability / Maintenance Engineer will serve as the site subject‑matter expert for asset management systems, ensuring accurate records and compliance while driving plant reliability. Based at BASF’s Cork site, you will work closely with maintenance, project engineering and production teams to optimise equipment performance and support major shutdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve asset management tools such as SAP and Asset Integrity Programs.
• Develop, implement and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programmes aligned with the site strategy.
• Analyse equipment performance and criticality to optimise spare‑parts inventory and reliability strategies.
• Lead gate‑keeping processes for major and partial shutdowns, including TAR tie‑in coordination.
• Prepare and manage test and inspection programmes, updating statutory documents (e.g., EPD, P&IDs).
• Support internal and external audits and promote Lean‑driven operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in asset reliability or maintenance engineering within an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of statutory and regulatory asset management requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
