Associate Auditor – Audit Services

About the role

The Associate Auditor will join Northern Trust's Audit Services team to perform routine audit examinations across the corporation. Reporting to an Audit Team Lead, the role supports audit planning, execution, and reporting while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review departmental processes, identify key risks and controls, and develop test steps.
• Document test results, evaluate control effectiveness, and compile findings.
• Stay current on regulatory rules and industry changes.
• Manage special audit projects as assigned.
• Participate in meetings with business units to discuss audit results and present recommendations.
• Assess corporate management, business processes, and operating practices during audits.
• Apply analytical skills to detect potential control weaknesses.
• Follow Northern Trust Audit Methodology and departmental standards.

Required profile

• College or university degree with knowledge of auditing in financial services.
• Entry‑level audit experience within a financial institution is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, ACCA or an MBA are advantageous.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
