About the role
The Associate Auditor will join Northern Trust’s Audit Services team to perform routine audit examinations across the corporation. Reporting to an Audit Team Lead, you will help ensure that internal controls are effective, regulatory requirements are met, and operational efficiency is continuously improved.
Key responsibilities
- Review various departments to understand key risks and controls.
- Develop and execute test steps, document results, and evaluate control quality.
- Stay current on regulatory rules and industry changes.
- Manage and perform special audit projects as assigned.
- Participate in meetings with business units to discuss audit findings.
- Communicate recommendations on operations and controls to partners at all levels.
- Apply analytical skills to identify potential control weaknesses.
- Prepare concise, professional summaries of findings and recommendations.
Required profile
- College or university degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Entry‑level auditing experience within a financial institution is desirable.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CISA, CIA, ACA, or ACCA are preferred.
- Strong analytical and organisational abilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
