Associate Director, Translational Medicine

About the role

Grifols is seeking an Associate Director of Translational Medicine to bridge pre‑clinical discoveries with clinical development. The role will define translational strategies, manage external partners, and ensure scientific rigor for decision‑making across therapeutic programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement scientific strategies for translational studies, interpreting data to support program objectives.
• Discover, validate, and apply biomarkers for drug response, mechanism of action, and patient stratification.
• Prepare IND supporting documentation and engage with regulatory authorities in pre‑IND meetings.
• Define and execute strategic plans aligned with regulatory expectations.
• Manage CROs and other external partners to ensure high‑quality, timely study execution.
• Initiate new investigative areas and integrate cutting‑edge technologies into preclinical and clinical programs.
• Present scientific findings internally and externally and communicate biomarker results to guide program decisions.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant biomedical field.
• Extensive experience in translational medicine, biomarker discovery, and assay development.
• Proven track record of leading cross‑functional projects and managing external collaborations.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for IND submissions.
