Associate, Internal Audit - Asset & Wealth Management

About the role

Join Northern Trust’s Audit Services team as an Associate Auditor supporting the Asset & Wealth Management division. You will work alongside senior audit professionals to assess risk, test controls, and provide insights that strengthen the firm’s governance and operational effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Review key risks and controls within assigned business areas.
• Execute audit testing, document results, and evaluate the effectiveness of controls and the overall control environment.
• Develop a working knowledge of Northern Trust’s Audit Methodology.
• Participate in meetings with audit stakeholders and business‑unit management.
• Assist with audit planning activities, including walkthroughs and process‑flow documentation.
• Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to identify potential control weaknesses and emerging risk themes.

Required profile

• A strong interest in the financial services industry, particularly internal audit and risk management.
• Desire to pursue professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, or IIA certifications.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of assigned tasks.
