Associate Research Scientist (Technical Lead) – Cell & Molecular Biology

About the role
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Associate Research Scientist to join its Cell Lab team in Athlone, Ireland. You will lead technical projects, work closely with clients, and ensure compliance with GMP and GLP standards while advancing analytical methods for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct analytical testing, method optimization/validation, and method transfers for a variety of formulations and delivery systems.
- Lead troubleshooting sessions for both procedural and instrumental analytical techniques.
- Prepare, review, and critique study protocols, project status reports, and final study reports.
- Communicate data, technical issues, and project updates to clients on a weekly basis.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of SOPs and quality systems.
Required profile
- Strong background in cell and molecular biology or related life‑science disciplines.
- Experience working in a GMP/GLP environment.
- Ability to design and execute experiments independently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
