Automation Engineer

About the role

The Automation Engineer will expand Sanmina Ireland's automation capabilities, supporting business development and delivering cost‑effective assembly solutions for high‑quality medical devices. The role works closely with customers, internal design teams, and cross‑functional groups to ensure smooth product introductions and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage new product development and introduction projects, including automation system design for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with customers to promote Sanmina’s automation expertise and provide technical proposals, simulations, and reports.
• Work with the Corporate Design team on product options and support customer visits and focus teams.
• Lead automation projects from URS development, sourcing, integration, to full‑scale production.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing concepts to improve processes and showcase the site’s automation capabilities.
• Provide DFM input on new product developments and support problem‑solving on existing lines.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, health, and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in automation system development and project management.
• Ability to apply and implement Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Strong technical communication skills for reports, proposals, and customer interactions.
• Experience supporting high‑volume production environments and new product introductions.
