Backend Platform Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Platform Software Engineer to join AMCS’s Platform Engineering group. In this hands‑on role you will design, build and continuously improve the core platforms, tooling and automation that enable product teams to deliver software securely, efficiently and at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable platform services, reusable frameworks and automation tools.
• Build and operate cloud‑native infrastructure using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep) following SecOps and DevOps best practices.
• Improve system observability (metrics, logging, tracing) and reliability across the organisation.
• Create internal developer tools, CI/CD pipelines and workflows that boost engineering productivity.
• Influence platform architecture, technology selection and long‑term roadmap.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience delivering platform‑level solutions.
• Proven ability to work across cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, container orchestration, event streaming and observability domains.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Commitment to building secure, reliable and reusable systems.
