Buyer – Supply Chain (Athenry Manufacturing Site)

About the role

Dexcom is launching its first European manufacturing site in Athenry and needs a proactive Buyer to coordinate purchasing activities. You will work closely with manufacturing, planning and engineering teams to ensure timely, cost‑effective acquisition of both direct and indirect materials.

Key responsibilities

• Generate, adjust and expedite purchase orders based on MRP demands and Min/Max requirements.
• Create supplier forecasts and manage general purchasing for the site’s material portfolio.
• Develop and apply inventory strategies aligned with business goals.
• Provide feedback on BOM parts and commodities within the ERP system.
• Support Supplier Relationship Management and suggest cost‑saving initiatives.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, minimizing excess and obsolescence.
• Collaborate with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
• Assist in resolving price variances, AP discrepancies and MRB dispositions.
• Monitor and report supplier delivery performance.

Required profile

• Experience building and managing supplier relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret MRP and inventory data.
• Collaborative approach working across manufacturing, planning and engineering.
• Commitment to quality, cost efficiency and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MRP systems.
• Experience using ERP platforms for purchasing and inventory management.
