Cafe Assistant – Full‑time at Centra, Dublin

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Cafe Assistant to join our Centra store on Grange Road, Dublin 16. The role involves delivering high‑quality service to customers, preparing coffee and food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. You will be part of a team that lives the Centra brand values of being proud, energetic, imaginative and community‑based.

Key responsibilities

• Greet each customer warmly and take orders accurately.
• Prepare and serve coffee, beverages and food items following recipe standards.
• Maintain the cafe area clean, tidy and compliant with food‑safety regulations.
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
• Merchandise and present the cafe to the highest visual standards.
• Follow cash handling and point‑of‑sale procedures.
• Restock supplies, monitor inventory and support opening/closing duties.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures and brand guidelines.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hospitality (café, restaurant, hotel) is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for coffee and food.
• Friendly personality with a strong memory for orders and menu items.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to work well in a team.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.

Required skills

• Barista experience (desirable but not essential).
• Ability to operate coffee machines and POS systems.
• Basic knowledge of health, safety and food‑safety standards.
