Care Assistant – Night Duty

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Care Assistant to work night shifts in our new residential service. You will support individuals with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful, self‑directed lives while ensuring their safety and wellbeing throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person‑centred, individualised support during night hours, promoting independence, dignity and inclusion.
• Assist with personal care, medication administration, and health‑related needs in accordance with organisational policies and HIQA standards.
• Support individuals to achieve personal goals and participate in community activities where applicable.
• Document care activities accurately and communicate relevant information to the multidisciplinary team.
• Safeguard individuals, respond to emergencies, and follow health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support (or equivalent).
• Commitment to person‑centred, rights‑based care for people with intellectual disabilities.
• Ability to work night shifts on a full‑time basis.
• Willingness to undergo Garda vetting and continuous professional development.
