Case Worker – Residential Services (Cork)

About the role
Join a multi‑disciplinary team delivering holistic, harm‑minimisation support to residents in Cork. The case worker ensures residents receive dignified care, empowerment and participation in managing their lives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide practical assistance such as food, laundry and bedding while maintaining a safe, high‑standard environment.
- Assess residents’ needs, refer to appropriate agencies and coordinate with health boards and county councils.
- Deliver key‑working for assigned residents, record progress, advocate on their behalf and update managers.
- Support medical and nursing staff with residents’ health care.
- Supervise volunteers, contribute to handovers and ensure consistent decision‑making.
- Adhere to all quality‑assurance, health‑and‑safety, confidentiality and code‑of‑conduct policies.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years paid experience in social care, preferably residential.
- Accredited qualification in Social Studies or Case Management.
- Experience with intimate‑partner‑violence cases and risk‑assessment processes.
- Understanding of harm‑reduction, homelessness causes and low‑threshold support.
- Proficiency in needs assessment, key‑working and support planning for complex needs.
- Good communication skills and computer literacy.
- Familiarity with Depaul’s vision, mission and values.
