About the role
The School of Humanities and Languages at UNSW is inviting qualified individuals to join a casual Academic Talent Pool for 2026. Candidates can express interest in teaching across a range of humanities and language disciplines, indicating preferred courses and providing details of their qualifications and experience.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver tutorials, lectures and seminars on‑campus and via online platforms.
- Mark assessments and provide feedback to students.
- Support hybrid teaching arrangements and contribute to course development.
- Assist with translation, interpreting or environmental humanities projects as required.
Required profile
- Qualified tutors, lecturers, recent graduates or HDR candidates with expertise in one or more listed disciplines.
- Legal right to work in Australia and an Australian bank account.
- Willingness to undergo pre‑employment checks (criminal history, working with children, qualifications verification, etc.).
- Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
Required skills
- Subject‑specific knowledge in Philosophy, History, Gender Studies, European languages (German, French, Spanish, Greek), Chinese, Japanese/Korean, Linguistics, Translation & Interpreting, Environmental Humanities or Management.
- Experience with online teaching tools and hybrid delivery methods.
