Chief Information Security Officer

About the role

The Chief Information Security Officer will lead the Information Security, Cyber Security and IT Risk agenda for a global insurance and financial services organisation in Ireland. Reporting to the Head of IT, the role shapes strategy, strengthens cyber resilience and ensures compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the organisation’s security strategy, governance framework and ISO 27001‑aligned ISMS.
• Lead security risk management, including identification, assessment, treatment and reporting of risks.
• Oversee third‑party and supplier security risk programmes and support internal audits and regulatory reviews.
• Drive security awareness, metrics, KPIs and reporting to senior leadership.
• Manage the security budget and lead the Information Security team.

Required profile

• Proven experience at CISO or senior security leadership level in a regulated sector.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior executives.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Pragmatic, business‑focused approach to cyber risk.
