Cleaner

About the role

Nua Healthcare Services, a private healthcare provider in Ireland specialising in residential and supported living services for children and adults with complex support needs, is looking for a Cleaner. The post holder keeps the centre environment to the highest hygienic standards, contributes to enriching the lives of Service Users and receives training and development suited to the role.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the day-to-day cleaning tasks set out in the role-specific key task list.
• Maintain a strict code of personal and general hygiene in line with work schedules and policies.
• Clean and disinfect furniture, desks, handles, chairs, equipment and surfaces.
• Clean windows internally, sills, ledges, handles, mirrors and picture frames; wipe down doors and clean on top of them.
• Clean skirting boards, woodwork, light switches, fittings, lamp shades, plugs and sockets.
• Vacuum and mop hard floors; vacuum upholstery, move cushions and clean underneath.
• Clean cornices, curtain rails, coving, picture rails, banisters, stairways and railings.
• Wash and disinfect the shower cabinet and screen, toilet, sink and taps, and descale where needed.
• Wipe down extractor fans, towel rails and mirrors, and remove cobwebs.
• Attend training such as AED, Hygiene, HACCP and Fire Prevention as required.

Required profile

• 1 year's previous experience in a similar role.
• Experience working in a service for individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities and/or mental health.
• Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area.
• Ability to empathise with and understand the needs of others.

Required skills

• Full clean driver's licence.
• Willingness to work as part of a multi-departmental team and to learn.
• Dedicated, reliable and flexible approach with excellent demeanour.
