Clinical Call Centre Nurse (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Clinical Call Centre Nurse provides the first clinical point of contact for Vhi members, delivering direct and appropriate care through a hybrid work model. Working on a flexible 24/7 rota, the nurse assesses, triages and prioritises patients using approved protocols and professional judgement.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, triage and prioritise patients using clinical protocols, decision‑support software and professional judgement.
• Provide evidence‑based advice, treatment recommendations, referrals and sign‑posting to appropriate healthcare services.
• Document all patient interactions accurately and maintain up‑to‑date electronic health records (EHRs).
• Respond to physician referral requests and urgent care appointment requests.
• Collaborate with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues to ensure a safe, efficient, member‑focused service.
• Maintain and develop clinical competence through departmental rotations and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified Nurse able to work a flexible 24/7 rota.
• Strong clinical judgement and ability to follow standardised triage protocols.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and departmental rotations.

Required skills

• Use of clinical decision‑support software.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
