Commercial Counsel, EMEA

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Commercial Counsel to join its founding Commercial Legal team for the EMEA region, based in Dublin. The lawyer will serve as a strategic partner to sales, guiding complex technology transactions and ensuring responsible AI deployment across diverse industries.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, focusing on GTM/Sales transactions and enterprise customer contracts in EMEA.
• Partner closely with Sales and Go‑to‑Market teams to accelerate deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance.
• Develop and maintain commercial legal infrastructure, including contract templates, playbooks and process improvements.
• Identify, assess and appropriately escalate legal risks while supporting business momentum.
• Stay up‑to‑date on legal developments affecting AI technologies.
• Build relationships with external stakeholders such as clients, regulatory bodies and industry partners across the region.

Required profile

• Law degree and qualification to practice law in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction.
• Minimum 4 years of legal experience, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements such as enterprise contracts or SaaS agreements.
• Strong legal writing skills with the ability to translate legal concepts for non‑lawyer audiences.
• Experience supporting sales teams in complex deal negotiations is preferred.
• Exposure to technology transactions, AI or machine‑learning contexts is a plus.
