About the role
The Community Relations Superintendent will support the Community Relations Manager in leading the company’s community engagement initiatives at the Simberi open‑cut gold mine. Based on Simberi Island, the role works on a 21/14 roster and focuses on building positive relationships with local leaders, stakeholders, and villagers.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in planning, scheduling and delivering economic development programmes, from feasibility to implementation and evaluation.
- Support the design and execution of business enhancement, retention and expansion projects for local communities and landowners.
- Coordinate the approval process for community financial support requests and oversee the disbursement of charitable contributions.
- Maintain demographic, market and vacant‑land databases to inform community strategies.
- Contribute to special projects that promote goodwill and sustainable development around the Simberi Mine Lease area.
Required profile
- Experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement or similar roles within the mining or resources sector.
- Strong understanding of economic development and community‑based project management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external community representatives.
- Commitment to compliance with corporate policies and local regulations.
