Consultant – Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (Inverness)

About the role

The NHS Scotland Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) at the Phoenix Centre, Raigmore Hospital, is seeking a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. You will join a rapidly evolving team that has expanded services in eating disorders, neuro‑developmental conditions and liaison work, and is building intensive home‑treatment capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior clinical leadership within CAMHS and work closely with professional leads and senior team members.
• Deliver high‑quality, multidisciplinary and multi‑agency mental health care for children and adolescents.
• Contribute to service development plans, including the expansion of intensive home treatment and specialised clinical provisions.
• Engage actively in local, regional and national continuing professional development (CPD).
• Maintain a supportive culture of excellence and staff training.

Required profile

• Qualified Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with appropriate registration.
• Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary mental health teams.
• Commitment to high standards of clinical care and collaborative service development.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Phoenix Centre CAMHS Clinic.
• Ability to work without out‑of‑hours commitments.
