Course Leader – Music Business

About the role
BIMM University is seeking an experienced academic leader to head its Music Business programme. You will shape the curriculum, support staff and students, and ensure the course reflects current industry practice.
Key responsibilities
- Lead delivery and continuous development of the Music Business course at campus level.
- Recruit, line‑manage and develop teaching staff, upholding high standards of learning, teaching and assessment.
- Provide academic and pastoral leadership, guiding students throughout their studies.
- Ensure understanding of assessment requirements, academic regulations and integrity expectations.
- Monitor course performance, student engagement and feedback, driving continuous improvement.
- Contribute to curriculum design and enhancement, keeping content relevant to industry trends.
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusion for all students.
- Lead initiatives to boost student engagement, retention, progression and achievement.
- Collaborate with academic and professional services on timetabling, assessment, quality assurance and administration.
- Support recruitment activities, open days, applicant interviews and course promotion.
- Act as escalation point for student concerns, complaints, appeals and integrity matters.
- Participate in institutional committees and quality‑enhancement processes.
Required profile
- Significant professional experience in the music industry.
- A degree or equivalent higher‑education qualification.
- A teaching qualification relevant to higher education, or willingness to obtain one within two years.
- Proven experience leading and managing academic teams, including part‑time and freelance staff.
- Track record of delivering positive student outcomes and enhancing learning experiences.
- Experience developing initiatives that improve student engagement, retention and satisfaction.
- Strong understanding of curriculum design, learning and teaching, and quality assurance in higher education.
- Experience using data and student feedback to inform improvements.
